Q&A Photographer Sarah Mitch

What is your practice? materials? processes?

I create printed canvases. I work with photographic images that I have collected from various cities and captured using my preferred medium – a pre digital camera! My focus is on the contrasting patterns, colours and textures of the ever changing urban landscape. Each piece begins with an empty table top which I then cover with my photos mixing and moving them around again and again and again, until I have a composition I am happy with. This collage is then transfer printed by hand on to canvas.
