SALE ARTS TRAIL MAP 2015
Sale Arts Trail is just over 4 weeks away and we now have the map ready for you to plan your trail. Get your walking boots ready, tell your friends and come and join us on Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-4. Don’t forget you are ALL welcome to come and join us on Friday evening for the preview at Waterside Arts Centre 6-9pm to officially open the trail.
The map is listed alphabetically A-X starting with Waterside Arts Centre where you can view the group show and take part in workshops, talks and The Penguin Parade at Sale Library. Other central venues include Pumpkin Interiors, Coasters of Sale, Minikin Emporium, Fresh Filling, Bean & Brush and a sculpture project The Grotto.
New Open Studios for this years trail include Sarah Driffill Art, Victoria Haire Textiles, Sarah Thirlwell Wood Turning, Nick Roberson Stone Carving, Mitch Canvas Textiles and Photography, Louise Dewsnap Paper Sculpture, Julie Harris Photography, Sylvia Glover Ceramics and Jacquie Wilson Textiles.
We are pleased to have Walton Park on board this year, hosting the Burgess Chainsaw Wood Sculptors demonstrating on Saturday and Sunday. Not far from Walton Park the Brew Boat will be moored on the Bridgewater Canal serving drinks and cakes alongside a canal boat dedicated to The Artism Society of Artists.
The event flyer will be ready very soon and will be available to pick up at local independent businesses in Sale.
The Sale Arts Trail team were out and about on Friday night for the launch of ‘Emerge’ at the Craft Shop at The Royal Exchange Theatre. ‘Emerge’ exhibits work from the first ‘Open Competition’ by the Craft Shop including jewellery, ceramics, textiles, print and more from emerging craft makers from Greater Manchester.
Sale Arts Trail last night awarded a prize to an ‘Emerge’ exhibitor of a free place at this summers Art Trail and are delighted to announce that the winner was Scott Millar and his ‘bird hangers’.

Not long left for artists and makers to apply to be part of this years Sale Arts Trail. You have until midnight tonight to get those applications in for the second Sale Arts Trail 10-12th July and it is going to be a good one including more open studios, more exhibitors, two Sale Arts Trail exhibitions one at Waterside Arts Centre and the other at the Royal Exchange Craft Shop and a fabulous programme of events.
CALL FOR EXHIBITORS
We are pleased to announce the application form for Sale Arts Trail 2015 is now live.
We are looking for artists and makers to exhibit at an open studio venue on the Sale Arts Trail on the above dates. If you practice painting, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, drawing, printing, photography, wood turning, stone carving, sculpture you are invited to apply. All successful applicants will automatically be exhibited at Sale Arts Trail exhibition at the Waterside Arts Centre in Sale as part of the event.
If you are a artist or maker with a studio in Sale that you would be interested in opening for the weekend of Sale Arts Trail or maybe you would like to host some artists in your house for the weekend please apply!
